Note: We might experience an unknow waiting period before entering the whale shark zone, usually only during vacation season or the weekends. We do not reccomend scheduling another activity for this day. Also, since this is wild life, there is a risk we dont see the whale shark, activity not refundable.
Despite being the largest fish in the world, the whale shark is very friendly and peaceful. They can be up to 41 feet and weigh about 47,000 pounds. Their skin is very thick and due to its many birthmarks is beautiful. The whale shark is found in open waters of the tropical oceans. They feed almost exclusively on plankton and therefore, are completely harmless to humans.
Trip
Information
We board from the La Paz Malecón, and the tour will last for approximately 2 hours, depending on how long it takes to locate the whale shark. During the short ride to the sighting area, your guide will provide detailed information for you to fully enjoy the experience. Our clients need to take into consideration that the season starts in October, and tails off in April.
Alonso Tours has different sized boats to fit your needs. All boats are insured and have permits for operation.
They are all equipped with lifejackets and snorkel equipment. Our boats also have a bathroom on board. There will always be a well-trained guide on board to help you get the most out of your adventure.
